General conditions for property financing

Loans are granted secured by your international property on the following terms:

  • First priority mortgage in the property you buy
  • Loan to value of maximum 70% of the lowest of the purchase amount and the appraised value
  • Possibility to apply for up to ten-years interest only period
  • Maximum duration of the loan 30 years
  • Floating interest rate for a period of 3, 6 or 12 months
  • Fixed interest can be offered for 3, 5 or 10 years
  • Loans can be granted in different currencies (multicurrency loan facility)

Useful information

When buying a property outside Norway, you must comply with the tax legislation in at least two countries. The property must be specified as assets in the Norwegian tax certificate. In the first year, you must declare this yourself to obtain tax deduction for debt interest on your home. You will be sent an annual statement confirming this.

Open an account

Opening an account in DNB Luxembourg is part of the loan process. The account will be used to debit interest and instalments on your loan and can also be used for investments, deposits and the payment of various charges.
