Who can use the contractual pension scheme AFP?
The contractual pension scheme is an agreed supplementary pension that comes in addition to the retirement pension from the National Insurance Scheme – and any occupational pension scheme. It is negotiated in collective agreements between employers and trade unions.
To qualify for a contractual pension scheme, you must meet the following requirements, amongst others:
- Be at least 62 years old
- Be employed in a business with AFP
- Have been affiliated with the AFP scheme for seven of the last nine years before turning 62.
- Requirement for a certain income
Who does the contractual pension scheme apply to?
AFP for the public sector:
- Employees in central government, municipalities and county councils
AFP for the private sector:
- Only applies if the employer is affiliated with the AFP scheme
