Securities (VPS) account - Norwegian Securities

Clients who deal in shares listed on the Norwegian stock exchange, as well as bonds and commercial paper issued in Norway must open their own securities account.

Information on the number of shares, or the balance of a bond loan, are registered in each securities account. All contact between the client and VPS takes place via the securities department.

The securities department can assist clients with a range of services, for example:
  • Opening a securities account
  • Updating, moving and closing a securities account
  • Transferring holdings
Registering trading authorisations, query authorisations and authorisations to operate accounts
  • Registering release to other brokers
  • Registering rights on the securities account
Secure banking
A prime concern for DNB is to provide secure and efficient products and services. We have therefore implemented a number of security measures when our clients transfer securities between accounts to prevent unauthorised individuals from gaining access.

If a client would like to transfer the holdings on their securities account to another account, such instruction must be sent to us in writing or by fax, or you may use the Investor Account Service on the internet.
