About DNB Ripple Effects
To start a business gives fantastic ripple effects in the form of direct and indirect value creation The companies not only contribute taxes and fees directly, but also have an effect on the ring through the purchase of goods and services from subcontractors.
DNB Ripple effects highlight how important Norwegian companies are for value creation and welfare in our country. Both directly, through taxes and fees, but also indirectly through the purchase of goods and services from others. We illustrate this by showing what each individual company’s tax contribution can finance by teachers, nurses and other welfare benefits that we meet in our daily lives.

Error source and uncertainty
The calculation is based on annual accounts and detailed figures at the industry level, but each individual company’s tax contribution is based on average figures. This means that wage costs are used without being adjusted for the spread of wage levels between employees in the company. The same will apply to the company’s imports by using the industry’s average in the intersection to calculate indirect activity. No adjustments have been made for any errors or deviations in the companies’ annual accounts, as well as the companies’ own reporting of the number of employees.
