Costs related to equity derivative trading
When you trade equity derivatives, there are transaction fees for entering and closing the position.
When entering a derivatives trade, a brokerage fee is paid to the bank (see brokerage fees). For exchange-traded derivatives, a trade and/or clearing fee is also paid. On top of that, there is an interest margin for products where the bank finances the exposure on behalf of its customer in an equity derivative. The interest margin is included in the price of the equity derivative and depends on the product’s duration. These costs are paid when the trade is made.
There are no ongoing costs associated with these products.
