What is the brokerage fee?

The brokerage fee is the price a brokerage house takes to carry out a purchase or a sale of shares on the stock exchange. Often, brokerage fees is stated as a minimum amount and as a percentage rate. The minimum amount and percentage depend on the pricing model you have. If you are under 28 years old, you pay for example a much lower price than other customers.

When trading U.S. stocks, the USD to NOK exchange rate you receive can significantly impact your returns. As Norway’s largest currency bank, DNB provides favourable exchange prices to its own equity customers.

Which equity trading is the cheapest?

When trading shares, there are several factors that play a role in what will be the most affordable for you in the end. Such as where you get the lowest prices on the shares you want to buy, who offers the best exchange rate when trading abroad, what the VPS account will cost you, and so on. In other words, there’s more than just the brokerage fee that comes into play.

Before you choose a supplier, you should therefore check more than the brokerage fee. Think about what and how often you want to buy or sell.
