"What causes the European North-South divide?" "Why can Scandinavia be considered as the gateway to the emerging markets?" These and various other questions had to be answered during the recent DNB Scandinavia Roadshow in Austria, which led to the Styrian Graz and the federal capital Vienna.
On the ground the four-member DNB sales team was strengthened by Karl G. Høgtun, who leads the Nordic Equity Team at DNB Asset Management and is the responsible portfolio manager of the "DNB Scandinavia (ISIN: LU0083425479)" fund at the same time. Having travelled from DNB's headquarter in Oslo to Austria, Karl G. Høgtun explained the investment process of his more than 90 million Euros strong "DNB Scandinavia" equity fund in numerous client meetings. Questions about the Scandinavian free floating currencies such as NOK and SEK as well as about the local real estate markets were asked by Austrian investors and taken by the portfolio manager who liked to share his expert point of view.
As a fund manager who is responsible for an Nordic equity portfolio of about 500 million Euros in total and with more than twenty years experience as an investment specialist, Karl G. Høgtun may truly be seen as an expert in Scandinavian stocks. Giving insight into the Nordic markets, Karl G. Høgtun was very much sought-after and therefore several meetings with asset managers, private bankers, fund of fund managers and media representatives have taken place. The presentation which Karl G. Høgtun gave at this year's Vienna FONDS professionell KONGRESS -well-attended by more than 120 visitors- can certainly be described as one of the highlights of the DNB Scandinavia Roadshow.
The fund manager, who is ranked among the Citywire EurStars and knows Austria from private family holidays, received another positive impressions: After the roadshow Karl G. Høgtun was delighted with the great interest as well as the warm welcome he experienced. Hence, he would very much like to come back.
"With a brief stroll through the inner city of Graz while enjoying the best weather conditions, I've also done a bit of advertising for the Autrian sales force," stated Mike Judith, who is responsible for DNB Asset Management's fund distribution in Austria. He would not mind to arrange another Scandinavia Roadshow in the near future, either. And obviously, there is neither a shortage of investors being interested in DNB products nor too few attractive travel destinations on the Austrian Market. Well then, see you soon in Austria.
