Tips

Time and expected rate of return are closely linked. With a long time horizon of over five years, you can choose a high proportion of shares.

If you have a time horizon of less than five years, the proportion of shares in the fund should be below 80%.

Historical rate of return is no guarantee of future rate of return. Future rate of return will depend on, amongst other things, market developments, the manager's skill, the fund's risk and management costs. Returns may be negative as a result of mark-to-market losses.
