How to send and retrieve files

Set up file transfer

In order to take the service into use you need to start by setting it up so your PC “knows” where the actual file exchange is supposed to take place. To do this, proceed as follows:

Step 1 - Click "File Set-up" under "Administrate" in the function menu on the top of the screen. The file paths that have already been defined will be displayed.

Step 2 - Click on "Add" to specify a new the file location on your PC, or "Change" to edit an excisting file location.

Step 3 - Select the file type and division/application the set-up should apply to.
  • The available file formats for the selected type will be displayed.
Step 4 - Click on the icon next to the field to search for the relevant file on your PC.
  • Enter the location and file name (e.g. c:\rem\tpn.dat) in the “File Name” field.
  • User who shall submit the file to the bank must have write access to the export area as files located on the submission.
Steg 5 - Click on “Save” to save the set-up.


File type Description
Recipent return Information on file for payment orders are received ok or rejected.
Processing reply Confirmation of the file executed or canceled payments.
Rejection reply
If you want a separate file with the rejected payment orders, this may be agreed with the Bank.
Copy of filename If you type the path and file name there will be saved as a copy of the file to the location defined.
Merge files Ticking off here will return files of the same type will be merged into one file retrieval. Existing files will be overwritten. If you don't want to overwrite existing files when fetching new files, leave "Merge files" open. The files will then be assigned a four-digit serial number in addition to the file name.

Java - Windows

Do you have difficulties using the Send and retrieve files even if Java is installed? One of the reasons may be that Java is not enabled in your browser

Step 1 - Test Java (opens a new page)
  • Check to ensure that you have the recommended version of Java installed on your computer
  • Follow the instructions on your screen to download or update Java

Step 2 - Remove older versions of Java on your computer
  • We always recommend that you uninstall older versions of Java from your system
  • Remember to restart your computer after uninstalling

Step 3 - Install the lastest version of Java
  • Go to java.com
  • Click Free Java download and follow the instructions on your screen

Java - Mac OS X

In order to log in with BankID you need to have Java installed on your computer. Here is how you do it:

Step 1 - Test Java (opens a new page)
  • Check to ensure that you have the recommended version of Java installed on your computer
  • Follow the instructions on your screen to download or update Java

  • Go to java.com
  • Click Free Java download and follow the instructions on your screen

Questions and answers

Why can't I see the files I am supposed to approve?

Click on the plus sign in front of the division name. The icon will be changed to a minus. If the file has been sent for approval, it will be displayed on the screen.

Does it take long to log into online banking or your computer work slower than before?

Try to delete temporary internet files in your browser.
When you surf the internet much of the information you see (text, images, etc.) stores in a folder on the computer. One simple thing you can do is delete these temporary internet files.
How you do this depends on which browser you use. See support from the browser you have.
