DNB Barnefond is an indexed equity fund where around 80 per cent is invested in shares which are listed on the Nordic markets. The remaining share is invested in international shares through ownership shares in the mutual fund DNB Klima Indeks (Climate Index). The fund invests in companies that have low carbon emissions.
DNB Barnefond does not invest in companies with direct exposure to fossil fuels or companies with a high degree of greenhouse gas emissions. The mutual fund has additional criteria beyond DNB’s guidelines for responsible investments and does not invest in companies in conventional weapons, commercial gambling or the production of alcohol. Recommended saving period is at least six years.

DNB index-based management
DNB Asset Management has appointed Eivind Aukrust as manager of index-based strategies. He works together with Erling Syversveen Lie, who is the junior portfolio manager.
Together, they have a comprehensive financial background from NBIM, trading and management of hedge funds. They have an education in industrial mathematics with a specialisation in finance and technical cybernetics.
